National Classical Etymology Exam
The NCEE tests knowledge of Latin and Greek roots and their English derivatives. It is an online multiple choice exam. There are 50 questions, 4 choices per question, and you will have a maximum of 45 minutes to complete the exam. About 75% of the questions are based on Latin, 25% on Greek. You do not need to know the Greek alphabet for this test. 20 questions are classified as easy, 20 medium, and 10 difficult. Some questions may be repeated from year to year, so make use of the past exams as well as the study guide to prepare.
