National Latin Vocabulary Exam
The NLVE is a 70-question online multiple choice exam (4 choices per question). You will have 45 minutes to complete the test. Approximately 20 questions will be classified as easy, 35 medium, and 15 difficult. About a third relate to nouns, a third to verbs, and a third to other words. You must know the meanings of all the Latin words on the vocabulary list. For nouns, know declension number, gender, and nominative and genitive forms. For verbs, know conjugation, number, and principal parts. You do not need to know grammatical usage or derivatives. If you study the vocab list thoroughly, you will do very well on the exam. All words are from the list.
